英語學系於民國94年成立，係配合本校轉型改制為大學，並朝向綜合型大學發展之宗旨而成立。課程涵蓋全校共同課程、英語師資培育課程及英語主修課程。其中專門課程以英語教學、基礎語言學、應用英語、英美文學等為領域。為配合語言學習系統有全體廣播的功能，亦有個別化的設備，使學生能夠利用多媒體語言教室提升英語能力。
已有規劃現代化之口譯教室提供學生學習口譯，從事跨國語言教室與文化交流。現有教師9人，其中教授1人、副教授3人、助理教授5人，教師均具有博士學位。
The English Department
was established in 2005 in accordance with
the transformation of the University from a
teachers' college to a comprehensive higher
education institute. The core courses of the
Department focus on the areas of English
language teaching, applied linguistics, and
English and American literature. The
Department has a state-of-the-art language
lab to facilitate the students' development
of English language competence. An oral
interpretation classroom had been available
to students who take on related
courses.Currently there are eight full-time
faculty members in the Department, including
one full professor, three associate
professors, and four assistant professors.
All of them hold doctoral degrees from
renowned universities in the U.S. More
faculty members will join the department as
it continues to grow and develop.
